Les Pitchounets opened its doors in September 1984 due to the work and inspiration of a group of volunteer parents.
Les Pitchounets is managed by a committee of volunteers drawn from among the parents of currently and previously enrolled children.
The committee meets several times a year to management the smooth running and marketing of Pitchounets as well as enrolments.
Committee members also provide assistance for different events.
Pediatric psychologists consider early childhood the most important and exciting stages of a child’s life.
It’s during this time that children learn enormously about themselves, others and the world around them.
Les Pitchounets welcomes children from 18 months to 4 years.
Groups are divided by age group across four half-days.
Children are looked after by a qualified, professional and caring team.
The activities proposed contribute to the development of children.
For many children, attending a jardin d’enfant is often the first time her or she evolves without his or her parents
and is part of a large group in an organized and planned educational environment.
Les Pitchouents proposes activities that contribute to the social and intellectual development of children, as well as the development of language skills.
Our programme is built on play – an essential need in children.
Activities, adapted to the age group (18 months to 4 years) such as games, workshops and craft, and story time permit children to blossom and prepare them for school.
The discovery of others, of the world that surrounds them, the preparation for school and the stimulation of independence are key objectives.
Our goal is for this process to unfold in a way that respects the rhythm of each child.
